Purpose Statement
As awareness of the VC funding gap has grown, initiatives designed specifically to invest in companies led by folks from underrepresented backgrounds (i.e., Women, Black, Latinx) have emerged. FairFunders launched in 2017 as a direct response to BIPOC founders seeking capital for their ventures.

About
This internship position represents an unusual and exciting opportunity to work as a part of an international, fully remote team of talented individuals. We work hard, and we're looking for the best and the brightest, who are able to keep up with the fast pace of a start-up. No two days are the same at FairFunders!
Work Schedule
This is a 20 hour per week internship that is expected to last approximately 6 months. Internships will start in December 2021. Flexible schedules are permitted as long as you have a commitment to your set hours. For reference, we operate on Belgian time (C[E]ST).
This position will be 100% remote due to COVID-19 safety regulations.
Responsibilities
You will help us rebuild our website on a free resource such as Vista or Wix, and help with daily social media tasks. A number of other tasks, such as research, grant applications, and keeping meeting minutes may also be required.
Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills for interacting with and providing information to management levels will be needed
- Experience with Responsive Design Techniques and CSS3
- Experience with free website solutions
- Experience with SharePoint, HTML5, Java, Spring, .Net, C#, or cloud technologies a plus
- Time management skills
- Ability to interact well in a team environment

Description
FairFunders is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit with a mission to help underrepresented founders build successful startups and connect with investors. We advocate for diversity and inclusion in both the startup community and the venture capital industry. We are a Y Combinator alumna and new Venture Partner at Pioneer Fund, an NSF SBIR grant awardee, and a psychotherapist-turned-founder. Together, we're committed to increasing the number of diverse teams of startup founders who successfully raise funding.
As female founders, we have experienced firsthand the unique challenges of raising funding for our startups. In July 2017, we heard numerous stories of females experiencing harassment and discrimination, and we realized something needed to change. We are a group of female founders who came together from around the world with the shared desire to make raising funding more equitable.
The result?
Our 501(c), FairFunders Inc. was established with the goal of ensuring that everyone-regardless of race, gender identity, sexuality, disability, and economic background-has an equal chance at building their vision.
