Come join our Lighthouse Hospice Volunteer Team!
Lighthouse Hospice provides care to all age groups during the final stages of life. Each patient has an experienced team of physicians, registered nurses, home health aides, medical social workers, counselors, and trained volunteers available to help them and their family manage the illness. We provide Hospice Care wherever you call "home". We serve patients in homes, nursing facilities, assisted and independent living facilities, and hospitals across southern New Jersey.

Lighthouse Hospice's volunteers are provided the preparation and training they need to comfortably and successfully complete their chosen assignments. When you give the precious gift of your time and interest, we give you a chance to make a real difference in someone's life.
We are looking for caring individuals to volunteer their time with our Hospice patients. Patient volunteers provide comfort to patients and their families through companionship, socialization and support. The volunteer serves as a companion, visiting the patient where he or she lives. We are also seeking Administrative Volunteers to help in our office with mailings, answering the phone and other administrative duties.

Qualifications

• Understanding and supportive of hospice philosophy.
• Compassionate person who is accepting and respectful of people's differences.
• Must be a licensed driver with an insured automobile in good working order, if making patient visits.
• The ability to communicate well, both verbally and in writing.
• Must be able to pass background check requirements.
• Patient Care Volunteers are required to be fully vaccinated prior to volunteering. This is not a requirement for Organizational Volunteers.

COVID-19

To ensure the safety of you, the patients and families, volunteers who are visiting patients must be vaccinated against covd-19 and provide documentation.
