Impact Sierra Leone is seeking experienced professionals to join our Board of Directors. We are in need of persons within the Marketing, Education, International Development, Management and Finance fields. We are also looking for individuals knowledgeable about Agriculture, Sustainable Development and issues affecting Africa and the African Diaspora.
Impact Sierra Leone is a US based 501(c) 3 non-profit organization. Our mission is to reduce socio-economic challenges in Sierra Leone through empowerment, education, and building strong partnerships with the Diaspora community. Impact Sierra Leone was founded by Adama Kalokoh to honor her parents who are natives of Sierra Leone. Since then, under her leadership and vision, strategic partnerships and alliances have been established in Sierra Leone and around the world. Several rural communities in Sierra Leone are receiving much needed support in the form of food, education and vocational training. ISL’s local positioning, partnerships and domestically hired teams culminate in an intimate and grassroots awareness of the needs and concerns of rural communities in Sierra Leone.
Expectations
Board members are expected to play an active role in securing the financial resources necessary for Impact Sierra Leone to achieve its mission. Board members are expected to leverage personal relationships and connections to help the development committee and staff identify and solicit potential funders, as well as directly invest in Impact Sierra Leone's work by making a personal contribution each year.
Board members are expected to responsibly represent Impact Sierra Leone to their respective communities and to advocate for Impact Sierra Leone's mission, programs, and services as appropriate.
Board Members must commit to meeting virtually once a month.www.impactsierraleone.org

Description
Impact Sierra Leone is a US Based non-profit organization run primarily by volunteers in the United States and West Africa. We work within the framework of the United Nation's Sustainable Development Goals to achieve less hunger, gender equality and health, wellness and nutrition. Our primary focus is on empowering young children (especially young girls) with the tools necessary to set them up for success through education, promoting good nutrition, mentorship and vocational training.
