We need a certified museum librarian to inventory our various documents and historical artifacts to create a plan for display, access, and storage. We are planning to build a second story in the museum that will house a small library. In addition, we are looking to create a separate storage for historical documents such a blueprints in a separate area. ORHF needs a professional look at how best to structure these activities.

Mission Statement
ORHC’s mission is to educate the public about Oregon’s and the Pacific Northwest’s railroad history. We are dedicated to the preservation and the safe, professional operation and exhibition of the SP4449, SP&S 700, ORN197, and the newly added Mount Emily Shay #1 Steam locomotives. We promote safe behavior around railroad property through our relationship with Operation Lifesaver. We are devoted to telling the steam-era story.
Description
The Oregon Rail Heritage Center is located across from OMSI. We are largely a volunteer driven nonprofit organization. Our volunteers are mostly retired railroaders or railroad hobbyists. The ORHC was built in 2012 to house all three of Portland's historical steam locomotives and is growing into a significant museum in Portland and the Northwest. The museum is open Thursday through Sunday from 1:00-5:00 pm.
In addition, we offer weekend train excursions and the annual Holiday Express trains.
