We are searching for kindhearted people who want to contribute to creating a positive impact in our community to serve as setup assistants for our shower trailer serving our unhoused neighbors. These wonderful humans will become an integral member of our growing team.
Shower Power Plus has a 27-foot shower trailer to support our ongoing efforts to improve health and hygiene of our unhoused community. We are actively recruiting volunteer members for a team to be responsible for setting up the entire event. At the end of the the event is taken down and stacking tubs into the trailer for transport back to our storage lot. Our goal is to have a few separate teams to enable volunteering to a minimum of once per month.
We have a permit from the City of Olympia and LOTT to dispose of the grey water at the end of the

Description
Nurture Hope (NH) serves Thurston County residents with dignity through two unique active programs, Build A Bus Home, and Shower Power Plus. Both programs serve our unhoused Thurston County neighbors.
Nurture Hope’s programs provide affordable housing options through BABH, while SPP serves unhoused guests who do not have regular access to running water with mobile showers. Our dedicated team of volunteers offer a piece of normalcy and a small step toward the goal of independent and self-sufficient living. Together, we strive to meet the most basic human needs with radical hospitality!
Shower Power Plus also works closely with Community Partners creating an inviting atmosphere for guests. This "Village of Care" approach has attracted partners who provide, food, clothing, medical, employment information, and a range of related supplies and services.
As we grow and evolve our operations, it is crucial that we continue to promote a favorable and lasting impression in the minds of everyone with whom we interact, including guests, donors, media, volunteers, and the general community.

- Shower Power Plus events are planned weekly on Wednesdays. Volunteer time commitments are estimated to be about 1 hour for setup, (9am-10am) and 1 hour for tear down (2pm-3pm)
- A strong body, and mind to work together to accomplish a common goal. Setup assistant allow for ease of flow for the entire event. You are important.
