Intake Volunteer: Screen taxpayers to determine the type of assistance they need (Basic or Advances filling), and confirm they have all the necessary documents. Complete an intake form and make copies of necessary documents and identification. Training required.

When: Tax Season from Feb 1 st to April 15 th (unless Tax Season is extended). Morning, Afternoon, and Evening shifts available. We work with your schedule.

Overview: Provide free tax assistance services for low-income households throughout Adams County. Volunteer hours and schedule range upon your availability. Volunteer shifts for taxes can be on weekdays, evenings, and weekends. Last year, we assisted over 350 households from January to Mid-May.

Requirements: Training is required and provided for free. Training is one a night for six weeks. Following training, volunteers need to take and pass the Volunteer Assistor’s Test.
Location: United Way of Adams County Office (123 Buford Ave Gettysburg, PA 17325)

Time Commitment: Typically3-12 hours a week.

Desired Skills: accounting, customer service, tax filing
