ORGANIZATION: Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington

Snow Shoveling

Once snow begins to fall, our friends & neighbors need assistance clearing snow! From safely walking to their mailbox to getting wood from their shed, we need volunteers who are willing to pave the way *literally* for elderly and disabled members of our community to stay safe this winter.

Whether you are available throughout the winter or from time to time, we will work with your schedule. You can provide much needed support to your community all while staying safe and maintaining social distancing and following proper PPE and sanitation guidelines.

Volunteer Services supports low-income seniors and adults living with disabilities by helping out at home. Assignments can range from transportation, grocery shopping or other errands, small home repairs, moving assistance, or yard care. With your help, clients can live safely and independently in their homes. Opportunities available across Yakima County! We will provide you with an orientation and training as well as ongoing support. Contact us to start your application today!

Mission Statement

Description

Catholic Charities Serving Central Washington provides help and creates hope for thousands of people each year regardless of religious, social, or economic backgrounds. Though serving the outreach efforts of the Diocese of Yakima, Catholic Charities is a separate 501(c)3 charitable organization, funded in part by the State of Washington, federal contracts, the United Way across Central Washington, fees for service, grants, and charitable contributions. Although rooted in a Catholic tradition that shapes its core mission of service to all, at times as many as 85% of the agency’s staff is non-Catholic. Similarly, the vast majority of those being served are not Catholic. With nearly 32 service locations and almost 48,000 people served annually, the agency remains a testimony to its ongoing mission of "Bringing Hope to Life."
