Even in a "no-kill" shelter environment, dogs are alongside many other pets, all waiting for homes. Shelters can be noisy and frightening, and sometimes excellent pets aren’t able to show their best qualities to the people who’ve come to choose a new companion. Obedience buddies spend time with our dogs, putting extra effort and attention on basic obedience (sit, down, leash manners, no jumping, etc.). Because dogs especially thrive with consistency, it's imperative that Obedience Buddies volunteer at least one shift (2+ hours) per week.
