Event Description:

Volunteers will be required to show proof of full vaccination at this event.

The community center will be set up with tables for different age groups with toys, gift cards, household cleaning supplies, hand sanitizer, face masks, tissue, coats and scarves to be distributed to the community. Participants will also enjoy holiday music from a DJ, performances from community groups, and they will receive prepackaged snacks to-go.

Volunteer Duty Description:
Volunteers will help setup and breakdown gift tables, and will help bag toys and snacks. Volunteers will also help with event cleanup.

Volunteer Impact:

By volunteering for this event, volunteers will bring joy to families in need, and will help all enjoy the holiday season.

Work Environment:

Volunteers will be inside the community center at the gymnasium. There will be a restroom available.

Volunteer Requirements:

All volunteers must register online. Volunteers must be at least 14 years old. Those under 16 years of age will need to be accompanied by a parent/guardian. All volunteers must sign a release form. Those under 18 years of age will need a parent/guardian signature.

Other Instructions:

Please dress according to the weather.

COVID-19 Policy:

Volunteers and staff must follow the COVID-19 policies below so that projects are safe for everyone.


  • Social distancing must be practiced (6-feet between individuals)
  • Masks/face shields are required for all volunteers (masks not provided)
  • Volunteers must participate in an infrared temperature check
  • State, federal, and local mandates must be followed
  • If you have COVID-19 symptoms, please do not register
  • If you are volunteering indoors you will be required to show proof of full vaccination

Group Registration Information:

Registration as a volunteer is first come, first served. A group leader must email rachel.vannoordt@raleighnc.gov to register. All groups will be required to provide a list of names and emails for their volunteers.

Per department policy, this volunteer opportunity is not to be used towards court-appointed/ suggested community service hours.
