Wilderness Search Investigations (WSI) is a new professional volunteer wilderness search organization. We help families of missing hikers by continuing the search and investigation in a professional and organized manner after official efforts have been suspended.

We are looking for someone to serve as our board secretary. The person will perform the following duties:

Prepare agendas with input from other board members and the Executive Director.

• Ensure that minutes are taken at all meetings and that the minutes are circulated to the board for review and revision, as needed.
• See that all notices are duly given in accordance with the bylaws or as required by law;
• Is familiar with legal documents (articles, by-laws, IRS letters, etc.) to note applicability during meetings.
• Ensure that corporate records are maintained in a secure way
• As needed, sign documents such as deeds, mortgages, bonds, contracts, or other instruments;
• In general perform all duties incident to the office of secretary and such other duties as from time to time may be assigned to him or her by the president of the board.
• Participate actively and build working relationships that contribute to consensus
• Assist with fundraising and or philanthropy

This important role will help families find closure.

The board meets regularly online, and occasionally we meet over lunch. As we begin to meet more in-person, we would prefer you live close enough to join us. The headquarters is located in Lynnwood, WA. Also, given the type of work that we do, it is important that you are available and respond to communications in a timely manner.
