COVID-19 is surging dangerously. Our communities still need protection. Since March 2021 the Encore Intergenerational Vaccine Corps has placed hundreds of volunteers on the frontlines of fighting the pandemic.

We currently are seeking volunteers of all ages to work with our health center partners in the South Bay. Volunteers will help:

● Set up vaccination sites,
● Support patients with paperwork, forms and questions,
● Manage patient flow,
● Monitor patients post-vaccination,
● Translate for Spanish-speaking patients.

We also offer volunteers opportunities to get to know and learn from one another. We need to bring the generations together to help build back the South Bay! We strongly encourage applications from people of color from the community. Spanish speakers are especially needed, as well as Vietnamese and Chinese speakers.

Click on "I Want to Help". Important - you will quickly receive a 2nd email from VolunteerMatch with an application link. Fill it out asap to join the nation's first Encore Intergenerational Vaccine Corps!

Mission Statement

We’re mobilizing people over 50 to help young people who need champions.

Description

Generation to Generation (Gen2Gen) is a diverse, action-oriented community of people who believe that experience matters, and that the goal of later life isn’t trying to remain young: it’s to be there for those who actually are. Because every child deserves a web of support, and every older adult has something to give.

The campaign shines a light on the mutual benefits of intergenerational relationships already happening, and features countless opportunities for people to get involved.
