Everyone needs a friend.
Miracle Friends is a phone buddy program for neighbors experiencing homelessness. Volunteer from anywhere in the world, in a way that fits into your schedule.
All 1:1 communications between volunteers and unhoused friends take place via phone calls and texts using Google Voice or Dialpad (i.e., not your personal number). The rough time commitment is an hour a week, flexible based on your schedule. This includes:
Weekly 1:1 calls and/or texts with your unhoused friend
The role of the volunteer is to offer general companionship and support. Each volunteer is supported by a mentor and, when possible, each unhoused friend is supported by a caseworker.
Volunteers must be 18+

Miracle Messages is on a mission to end relational poverty on the streets and, in the process, inspire people everywhere to embrace their unhoused neighbors not as problems to be solved, but as people to be loved.
Description
We have a need for volunteer virtual phone buddies for our unhoused clients. We are looking to recruit 30 volunteers immediately and 5 a week ongoing. Volunteers would need to attend a half an hour orientation and then make weekly 30 min calls (texts OK) to 1 unhoused clients (miracle friend).
