The Illustrator will be responsible for creating engaging still images, primarily for Harvard in Tech Seattle Blog, but will have other responsibilities as creative needs arise within different teams.

• Prior experience as an illustrator, with a portfolio of completed illustrations.

• Strong digital drawing & painting skills, as well as conceptual skills.

• Experience with and licensed access to digital illustration software (for example, Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, Procreate, etc).

• Strong communication skills.

• Willingness to accept edits.

• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

• Ability to work independently, with the assistance of the editor when needed.

Responsibilities

• Brainstorming image ideas based on article topics, and in alignment with the Harvard in Tech Seattle brand.

• Each article requires cover art. There may also be a need for content illustrations from time to time.

• Producing rough draft illustrations to share with the team.

• Producing finished custom illustrations to be published with our digital products (blog, newsletter, and more).

• Ensuring completed projects are of high quality and on schedule.

• Being responsive to communications replying to emails, Slack messages, etc in a timely manner.
