THE ROLE

Protect Us Kids Foundation (PUK) is currently researching the behavioral and socioeconomic factors involved in how technology is used to support cyber-related crime against at-risk youth. The Volunteer Program Coordinator is accountable for overseeing volunteer activities of select PUK programs, including connecting with schools & universities to cultivate relationships and possibly create fundraising opportunities.

PUK programs are centered on the unique cultural, behavioral, and societal aspects of underserved, rural and marginalized communities that have afforded criminals an increased opportunity to exploit children leveraging technology. Our programs align to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and support global partnership efforts towards combating human trafficking; to include developing critical targeted research of Online Child Sexual Exploitation (OCSE) against youth within this demographic globally. Our programs include:

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Responsible for recruiting, interviewing, supervising and training volunteers
  • Manage and schedule volunteers for ongoing tasks as well as for staffing, organizing and promoting events.
  • Responsible for tracking volunteer hours and managing award programs in support of recognizing those volunteers with certificates or other mementos
  • Conduct periodic evaluation of volunteers
  • In collaboration with other departmental programs, plan and organize events, including site selection, logistical arrangements, purchasing supplies, promoting events, scheduling and being the primary point of contact for the event
  • Collaborate and engage volunteers with Fundraising Teams
  • Engage volunteers with community outreach activities
  • To assist in the development of new brochures, flyers, forms, applications, and other printed materials used to attract and maintain a successful volunteer program
  • To recruit and coordinate donor gifts for program participants and plan agency-wide volunteer recognition events
  • To create and standardize volunteer records and tracking methods; to include managing the volunteer database
  • To work in a cooperative and professional manner with staff, Board members, and donors
  • Assist with department tasks as needed
  • Must work flexible hours, including weekends and evenings
  • Although currently virtual organization, must be prepared to travel to various program sites, and various communities on a limited case-by-case basis
  • Other administrative and management duties as assigned

Our programs are centered on the unique cultural, behavioral, and societal aspects of marginalized and rural communities that have afforded criminals an increased opportunity to exploit children leveraging technology. Our programs align to the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) and support global partnership efforts towards combating human trafficking. Our programs include:
