Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: American Red Cross - Tennessee Region

Disasters don’t take a break for the holidays; you have the power to give a gift to your community by volunteering. As a Disaster Action Team volunteer, you can get to be a part of something bigger than yourself, help a community member in need and feel good knowing you made an impact.

Safety First! Our need for volunteers is constant and our guidelines reflect the latest CDC safety recommendations and follow the national and local government laws. COVID-19 vaccination will be required for in-person volunteer roles beginning January 3.

Disaster Action Team Volunteers provide 24-hour emergency response to local disasters, particularly house fires, ensuring that those affected have access to resources for basic necessities such as food, shelter and clothing.

DAT Members participate in all DAT program support and capacity building activities necessary to ensure effective service delivery during a DAT response.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Completes all required training and maintains current training standard as DAT program requirements change.

2. Attends regular team meetings and training as required by the region/territory.

3. Completes assigned projects and local response activities according to the needs of the DAT program. (Preparing vehicles, response materials, administrative support of the DAT program and other tasks assigned by the DAT Leader.)
