Mission Statement
The Art of Love’s (TAOL) mission is to improve Arizona foster children’s lives by providing creative and loving outlets to help them cope with trauma, achieve emotional well-being, encourage artistic expression and create joy. We envision a world where all children are supported and celebrated. We seek to guide children on a path of self-discovery, self-love, and internal healing by exposing them to creative expression and art enrichment activities.
Description
The Art of Love is a registered non-for-profit national public charity with 501c3 tax exempt status. We use art and animals to restore self-love and self-esteem in Arizona’s foster children, some of whom have experienced abuse, neglect and homelessness. TAOL’s goal is to create a safe environment where children can feel, understand and express their emotions, begin to recover from the traumas they’ve experienced, and feel love and support from both adults and peers. Our services include:
- Informal expressive art classes, parties & events to support foster children in need of a safe, emotional outlet and a space to feel celebrated
- Animal assisted activities and/or activities in which the children also care for and love small farm animals that have been rescued
- Item collection and distribution for foster children and foster families in need in the Phoenix metropolitan area and surrounding cities.
- Support for local organizations benefitting at-risk youths
