Create and execute marketing communications strategies to engage our audiences, including current members and prospective advocates for people with serious brain disorders commonly referred to as "serious mental illness," and motivate them to get involved (by actively advocating, donating or volunteering). For example, educate our audience about the importance of sharing their stories and persuade them to submit short videos or written stories for our website and social media. Educate the general public, stakeholders and decision-makers about what these illnesses really are, dispelling all of the common myths such as, for example, that parents caused the illness. Effectively communicate the humanitarian crisis we are faced with and solutions focused on our Points of Unity. Write monthly newsletters to our members informing them of our progress and thanking them for their support.
The National Shattering Silence Coalition speaks out about federal, state, and local policies that impact adults and children living with serious brain disorders (SBD), commonly referred to as "serious mental illnesses," and advocates for change. We are voices for the 14.2 million adults and 8 million children living with and dying far to young from serious brain disorders.

Description
Founded in 2017, NSSC is a nonpartisan alliance of family members, individuals suffering from serious brain disorders (SBD), professionals in the trenches, and caring people united to ensure that brain illness, health, and criminal justice systems count those with SBD, and their families in all federal, state, and local policy reforms. We are voices for the 11.2 million adults and 7 million children living with and dying too young from serious brain disorders.
NSSC envisions a medically-based system of non-discriminatory, comprehensive, and coordinated brain illness care.
