About The SOS Coalition

Location:

1121 South Front Street, Unit B, Wilmington, NC 28401, US

Mission Statement

The SOS Coalition is a non-profit organization bringing together like-minded snow-sports enthusiasts to help keep our slopes snow-covered for future generations of skiers and riders. By changing the conversation around climate change, creating unconventional initiatives, and acting to save the places we love to ski, we are committed to positively impacting our environment at the hyper-local level and saving our slopes.

Description

We're not your average climate change organization. We're 100% nonpartisan - we will never ask you to vote for one candidate over another or to leave things in the hands of politicians. We understand that in order to move the dial, we need to change the conversation around climate change. That's why we've banded together to focus on the things that really matter, because we care deeply about what's at stake. We're starting small in the places where the snow on our slopes is the most at risk. Instead of viewing climate change as an insurmountable global issue, we're taking it hyper-local, because many small actions will add up in the fight against climate change. We're a coalition of people working together because of a shared love for our slopes. Together we can make a difference and keep skiing alive on the east coast for future generations.

Ready to join us? We're always seeking passionate volunteers: whether you want to help out an event, volunteer on an ongoing basis or assist in another way there's a spot on our team for you.
