Kidney Walk

As a committee member for the Village Sidewalk Stroll Kidney Walk, you will help plan and execute the Kidney Walk, taking place on Sunday, May 1, 2022 at the Village of East Davenport. Committee members will work with NKF Staff and other volunteers to plan the Walk and then will be responsible for helping at the Walk on Sunday, May 1.

Things you will possibly be asked to help with: securing food and beverage donations from local organizations for the Walk, securing silent auction donations, helping recruit teams, helping recruit other sponsors, organizing activities for the day of the walk, and other duties!

Strong ties to the Quad Cities Kidney Community are appreciated but not required!

Description

The National Kidney Foundation offers free health screenings for kidney disease, public and professional education programs, advocacy to make patients' voices heard through legislative action, and a vital research program to identify new clinical treatments. The NKF achieves life-saving results today through the contributions of a generous public including participation in NKF signature initiatives such as Kidney Cars Vehicle Donation program, Kidney Walks, and the NKF Golf Classic.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Must be at least 18
  • 5-10 hours per month December 2021-May 2022. 10 hours the weekend of the Kidney Walk including, set-up, duration of, and tear down of the Walk. If you choose to continue on the committee, meetings will start again in October or November of 2022.
