Come join our hive! We are looking for fun and enthusiastic people just like YOU to help run our weekend volunteer projects. Honeycomb volunteers help deliver the very best volunteer experiences for families and organizations alike. They are leaders, party hosts, teachers, and organizers. Honeycomb volunteers love working with kids and enjoy a variety of projects across Chicago.
Volunteer responsibilities include:
- Assist Project Leaders in managing Honeycomb’s family volunteer programs
- Teach, direct, and motivate kids and their families
- Help with day-of logistics including set-up and break down
- Minimum commitment of 1-2 projects per month (3-4 hours)
By volunteering with Honeycomb, you’ll inspire families to spend quality time together in service to others; while learning first-hand about important issues in Chicago’s communities.
From distributing food at local pantries, to growing fresh vegetables at city farms, to building nature trails along the Chicago River, your time as a volunteer will make a lasting impact. You'll help foster empathy, social awareness, and civic action in the youngest of volunteers - building a stronger Chicago for generations to come.
Volunteering with Honeycomb is easy and flexible! After attending an orientation and completing a background check, we’ll send you our calendar of upcoming projects. You can sign-up for any available project that suits your interest and schedule (typically 3-4 hours per project on Saturdays or Sundays).
If you think you would make a great addition to the Honeycomb hive, please apply to volunteer today: https://www.shiftboard.com/thehoneycombproject/registration_form_2.htmlMore opportunities with The Honeycomb Project
