Mission Statement

Saint Louis Fashion Fund's mission is to seamlessly enhance and to grow St. Louis’ fashion and manufacturing community. SLFF will achieve this by being the concierge for companies navigating the exciting, but complex world of business expansion. Working in collaboration with St. Louis City and County business and civic leaders, our work will help attract, retain, and facilitate the growth of businesses within the fashion and manufacturing industry. The result of this unified strategy will be: Job Creation Expanding Inclusive Economic Development Improving long-term global competitiveness for St. Louis in the fashion industry sector.

Description

Saint Louis Fashion Fund (SLFF) was co-founded in 2014 by Susan Sherman, Tania Beasley-Jolly, Sharon Tucci, Elizabeth Tucker and a dedicated board, who envisioned an organization that would support emerging designers and promote fashion education and outreach in Saint Louis City, thereby revitalizing its Garment District and growing St. Louis’ impact on the fashion industry. SLFF serves as a fashion retail and education hub for the local design community as well as a catalyst for attracting full-scale garment manufacturing and production to downtown St. Louis.

Building on that success, SLFF revised and broadened its mission and developed new programming for 2019 that reflects its next stage of growth and service to the local design and creative communities. The new mission of Saint Louis Fashion Fund is to enrich St. Louis through the business of fashion via three pillars: economic growth and revitalization of St. Louis’ garment district, education and community outreach, and a Fashion Lab which is a combination of professional and educational opportunities promoting community, collaboration and connection within the fashion industry. The Fashion Lab includes our Resident Habitu├ęs, Professional Membership Program and Events and the Fashion Consortium.
