Lowell Humane Society is looking for individuals who are passionate about bettering the lives of animals to assist with our morning animal care and cleaning. Cat & Small Animal Care Volunteers play an important role in ensuring that shelter animals are receiving daily enrichment, socialization, and care. They work to ensure the cleanliness of the animal habitats and adoption floor, monitoring behaviors of cats and smalls, as well as assisting potential adopters who are searching for their next cat or small.
Morning volunteers assist with:
- Feeding cats & small animal
- Cleaning cages & kennels
- Monitoring medical and behavioral needs on the daily log
- Preparing the animals to meet potential adopters
- Preparing the public areas of the shelter for opening
Time commitment: Volunteers must be willing and able to meet our minimum service requirement of one shift
per week, at least 2 hours long, for 6 months. Volunteers must attend an orientation session to get started, and additional duty-specific trainings as required.
