A Meal With Dignity (AMWD) is a non-profit organization devoted to making fresh, organic homemade bagged lunches and hand-delivering them with dignity to our unsheltered neighbors living on the street. Our Mission is to inspire everyone (individuals, enterprises, schools, and community-based organizations) to feed their unsheltered neighbors, one fresh, organic and sustainable bagged lunch at a time.
We are looking for a PR Specialist who can raise our awareness, attract funding and recruit volunteers in our hometown of San Francisco and across the U.S. A Public Relations Specialist who can create media releases and develops social media plans for our organization. Also responsible for creating and maintaining our public image. The specific tasks would include include responding to media requests, helping the Executive and Managing Directors effectively communicate with the public, draft speeches, arrange media interviews, and maintain a A Meal With Dignity's positive image and identity.

Description
At its core, A Meal With Dignity is a grassroots movement that brings groups of people together to hand-make lunches with high quality, local ingredients - and hand-deliver those lunches to people experiencing homelessness in their communities.
For individuals, companies and community-based organization who believe in the human right to food, AMWD is the only feeding program that provides fresh, organic and sustainable individual bagged lunches, made by hand in small batches in distributed locations, and delivered in person to the unsheltered homeless where they live. Unlike other large-scale, conventional, and centralized homeless feeding programs, AMWD is the only feeding program that fully respects the right of unsheltered homeless to a meal with dignity.
Founded in San Francisco in 2017, we delivered 2000 bagged lunches annually by 2019. Our 2020 Goal is to deliver 5000 meals thorough lunch-making events hosted by individuals, for-profit enterprise partners, and community-based organizations, e.g. schools.
We recently began our national expansion through a partnership with Postmates. Given the COVID-19 pandemic, we recently shifted to Small & Simple Virtual Events. We also just launched a joint student-led effort with the Hospitality Program at the University of San Franciso (USF).
