ORGANIZATION: Amherst H. Wilder Foundation

Wilder Foundation’s Development team is seeking a volunteer to provide silent auction support in advance of our biggest gala of the year, Ordinary Magic, on Thursday, May 12, 2022. As an Auction Preparation Volunteer, you can share your attention to detail, photography and graphic design abilities, writing skills, and passion for research to help us get our online auction system in tip-top shape. This volunteer will play a key role in ensuring all our donations are appropriately documented, described and valued. The more detailed and creative the descriptions the more eye-catching items will be, increasing the likelihood for plenty of bids. This flexible volunteer opportunity can be completed virtually and onsite and will be scheduled based upon volunteer availability during daytime business hours. Join us and provide that magic touch to organize our auction materials!

Responsibilities include:

  • Review orientation and training materials prior to your first shift
  • Familiarize yourself with the auction software fields (will not be using the software directly)
  • Write descriptions for auction items
  • Take photographs of auction items
  • Research the donation and/or company to locate a logo
  • Design and create auction package images
  • Document market value of item
  • Provide written description, photo, logo and value to staff
  • Assist with organizing or packing auction items if interest and time allows
  • Assist with other auction-related or event tasks if interested
Qualifications needed:
  • Be 18 years of age or older.
  • Comfortable with Microsoft Office suite, including Word and Excel.
  • Must have experience and comfort taking photographs (they do not need to be professional quality photos).
  • Experience or interest in learning simple graphic design platform like Canva.
