Manatee Village Historical Park

An Old Florida Christmas is back at Manatee Village Historical Park on Saturday, December 11th! An Old Florida Christmas is an outdoor event that features vendors and crafts for the whole family to enjoy. Our volunteers help ensure the event runs smoothly and that our visitors have a fun, safe, and happy time.

We have several volunteer opportunities available throughout the day, including pre-event setup, admission table help, craft station attendant, parking attendant, street crossing attendant, relief floater, and post-event cleanup help.

Masks are not required but can be worn if you so choose and social distancing is encouraged.

About Manatee Village Historical Park

1404 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton, FL 34208, US

Mission Statement

Manatee Village Historical Park shares Manatee County’s pioneer history through educational programs, exhibitions and events allowing visitors to reminisce and experience the past while educating them about our shared heritage and developing a new generation of historian in an attractive and enjoyable environment.

Manatee Village Historical Park is a place where visitors of all ages and backgrounds are immersed in the history of local pioneers and can experience firsthand the challenges and triumphs of their daily lives. Representing our collective past are Manatee County’s first court house, built in 1860; a 1913 one room schoolhouse, a "Cracker Gothic" style 1912 farm house, blacksmith shop, the Fogarty Boatworks, 1903 Wiggins General Store & Hotel, and a grand church built in 1887 for the bygone Village of Manatee. Access to this community space is free, and hundreds of school children participate in field trips and special programs held on the grounds each year. The Village also promotes historical education through outreach programs such as the Manatee County History Fair, free lectures promoting adult education on topics of historical significance, as well as special events and open houses designed to increase connections to our community’s heritage.
