Every day, abused and neglected children in Orange County are taken from their homes and placed into foster care because their parents cannot provide a safe home. Today, more than 150 children are on CASA's wait list, referred by a judge and in need of a mentor-advocate of their own. CASA needs your help to ensure we help each child in need.
CASA volunteers are ordinary citizens of all walks of life with extraordinary hearts. What makes them special is they each give their time to make a difference in the lives of Orange County's most vulnerable children. CASA will provide all of the training you need to be a powerful voice for a child's best interest.
A CASA volunteer visits with a child on a regular basis, interacts with all professionals involved in the child's case and makes recommendations directly to the court, ensuring the child's best interests are heard. A CASA volunteer will address a child's educational needs, help find a permanent home and provide the guidance and resources necessary for an independent future. With a CASA volunteer, a child's future is brightened. Make a difference in a child's life!
To become a Court Appointed Special Advocate you must be at least 21 years old, dedicate 10-15 hours a month, and fulfill a minimum of a 2 year commitment to a youth in the foster care system. There are no specific education requirements and all potential volunteers must successfully complete a background check.
More information regarding the role, responsibilities, and requirements of a Court Appointed Special Advocate will be provided when you take the first step and attend our online Information Session.
We would love to hear from you, and have you join us for an upcoming Information Session.
