ORGANIZATION: Interfaith Community Services

Help the healing begin! Veteran Patient Drivers use Interfaith vehicles to transport homeless veterans and non-veterans to the Hawthorne Veteran and Family Resource Center so they can recuperate from a serious illness or injury when they are released from local medical centers (VA Hospital in La Jolla, Palomar Medical Center, Tri-City Medical Center). Volunteers also transport Interfaith's clients to their GPD program, medical appointments, and other appointments such as church, support groups, and shopping. As a driver, you will be the first face of Interfaith as clients build their strength!

Volunteer Responsibilities:

Transport clients to and from medical and other appointments at various locations

Assist clients as they enter and exit the vehicle

Be reliable and punctual
