Through the sales of our handmade products, we create jobs for women in recovery who are transitioning back into the workforce.
We are looking for volunteers to help us package our coffee mugs and get them out the door during our busy holiday season. We couldn't make it happen without the magic of our volunteers!
Beginning now we have 2- to 4-hour shifts available to help us package our custom-designed coffee mugs. We can accommodate individuals and small groups. Come see the impact our organization is having on the lives of women in the South Florida community, while helping us achieve our goals and support our mission to help women in recovery flourish!
Let us know that you are interested by responding to this post! Alternatively, you may complete the following form by selecting the volunteer option: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSdGZr5_2WLAkWpHB8pxCujXPXfYgfdxrhn0P4D8XlTqz7voXA/viewform

Mission Statement
Our mission is to create jobs for women in recovery that help them flourish.
Description
Every single one of us has needed a second chance. No matter who we are, no matter what our story, we’ve needed to start over at some point.
Our team members struggle to find traditional employment because of their past. This leads to a clear problem: we have people hungry to turn their lives around, but no opportunity to become financially independent. As we all know, without a path to self-sufficiency, there cannot be lasting change.
That's where Second Chance Initiative comes in. Our 501(c)(3) nonprofit aims to be the launching pad where people can begin working towards a brighter future, thus breaking the cycle of shame and hopelessness that perpetuates relapse and recidivism.
A key component of breaking this cycle is changing the conversation. We do not see our team members as powerless victims. We see them as empowered survivors who have already taken the hardest step: they’ve decided they want something different for their future and are working to make that happen. We know that they do not want handouts. They want the chance to stand on their own two feet. We exist simply to give them a hand-up.
Here’s what we believe:
~ Your past does not define your future~ There is no shame in starting over
~ Seeking a second chance is a sign of strength and people who do so deserve to be celebrated
So, here’s to every time any of us have been brave enough to start over, and here’s to creating opportunities for others to do.
