Please Note: Volunteer match Doesn't Provide the option to put up exact dates and shifts that we need. We use another site to schedule shifts. Our Gift Wrap Store will be Open Tuesday - Sunday from 12-9pm, Closed Mondays, and Open Sundays and Christmas Eve from 12-6pm. We are in need of Reliable, volunteers who know how to wrap or are willing to follow direction (there is a high expectancy for this mall) and are team players.

Since UCAAN (United Cancer Advocacy Action Network) was started in 2009, we've always loved the holiday season, wrapping gifts in our community (Ventura County, CA) and spreading joy and Hope.

With the pandemic, we've had to think outside of the box and last year we came to Henderson and offered our holiday gift wrapping service at a mall where people were beyond appreciative for the service and the ability to donate. We also helped various cancer patients we met while in town. To date, UCAAN has helped over 12,000 cancer patients nationwide, about 1,000 of them in Nevada!

The holiday season is a great time to spread Joy to others and we're looking for some gift wrapping elves to join in on the fun this season!

I started UCAAN in 2009, after my own personal battle with rare, stage 4, terminal cancer twice. I have since dedicated my life to this cause to help focus on cancer patients as opposed to research. The vital needs of cancer patients, the resources, the information they never get from their oncology team or social workers, UCAAN focuses on bridging the gap!

"UCAAN Saves So Much Time For Those Who Have NO Time to Waste!"

We will have 2 different days (2 different shifts) for Gift Wrapping training. We need to make sure that volunteers helping this season are wrapping the right way, the UCAAN way. :) (Plus this mall has a vision for our wrapping, so we need to make sure we are up to their expectations)

You MUST sign up for shifts during the season if you choose to take the training. (Also, because of this, no community service hours are given for the 2 hour training, because we need to see your commitment.)

We don't want to take a spot from someone who wants to help and maybe needs a wrapping refresher. Here's what past volunteers have said about our training:

"I always thought I knew how to wrap and the training showed me tricks I never knew of!" ~ Alia S.

"My mom taught me how to wrap, but Rachel showed me things I never knew and I learned how to not waste paper!" ~ John T

"I thought learning how to use the extra left over paper and turning it into a matching bow for the gifts was a cool thing to learn!" ~ Danny B

"I had no idea how to wrap, and wow! This was so much fun and before I knew it, I was a pro. :) " ~ Amie T.

We will be offering our holiday gift wrapping services at The District at Green Valley Ranch in Henderson, NV. Please be patient with us, especially during your shift, this is the first time we are at this mall and we are unsure how busy it will be, We do all we can to keep you busy! NOTE: Please bring your own water for your shift. Shifts are only 3 hours, make sure you've eaten prior to arriving. If you choose double shifts, you get a 15 min break for a 4 hour shift and a 30 min lunch for a 6 hour shift. The lunch isn't included in community service hours. Exact Location will be given when you sign up on our secondary volunteer site. No phones allowed during your shift.

This mall requires us to dress alike. They have requested Black pants and blank tops. They also want us to wear holiday hats. We have some, but if you have your own, feel free to wear it. The organization directors, will have different shirts to tell us apart. If you'd like to volunteer as a group and have more than 4 people, we can split you into several groups over several shifts.
