Children need strong role models. You can be a role model for a child serving as a mentor at select elementary schools.
Meet with your mentee for just 1-2 hours a week engaging in a variety of activities. For example, you could play a game, read, go outside or go to the library. There are support specialists to support and guide you.
This is a school year commitment.

Description
Leading Through Experience! You've gained a lifetime of experience. Now is the time to put your skills and talents to good use by volunteering through RSVP. RSVP provides opportunities for people 55 and over to make a difference in their community through volunteer service. RSVP volunteers contribute anywhere from a few to over forty hours a week, serving through non-profit, faith-based, and governmental agencies to help meet critical community needs. RSVP offers maximum flexibility and choice to its volunteers. RSVP matches the personal interests and skills of volunteers with opportunities to help solve community problems and offers supplemental accident insurance while on duty, and on-the-job training from the agency or organization where volunteers are placed.
