American Red Cross Metro New York North Chapter is seeking volunteers to support its Disaster Workforce Engagement Team program. This is a remote opportunity that can be completed from home with some in person training in Hawthorne, NY.
Volunteer responsibilities:
- Participate in meetings and projects to support annual goals, regional disaster objectives, and volunteer engagement plans
- Projects and participation will be assigned according to areas of interest, including onboarding/placement, deployment, training, recognition and appreciation, leadership development, volunteer management and engagement
- Projects may include conducting volunteer interviews, updating profiles in American Red Cross's system, recognition, analyzing reports/data, and scheduling volunteers
Time commitment:
- Volunteers should be prepared to spend anywhere from 4 to 8 hours weekly during normal business hours, and additional time when disasters strike
Qualifications:
- Build effective relationships with others who can help with work-related goals
- Be sensitive to diversity inclusiveness in interactions
- Comfortable with computers database work and talking on the phone
