WeSPARK Cancer Support Center is looking for enthusiastic volunteers to help with an upcoming 5K/10K race at Lake Balboa (Woodley Park) on Sunday, January 30, 2022. Good for runners and walkers of all ages and skill levels, the event will feature a 5K course, 10K course, kids fun run (ages 3-11), a vendor expo, food trucks, music and a fun day for the whole community! All proceeds will go to WeSPARK Cancer Support Center, a Sherman Oaks non-profit providing free cancer supportive services and programs for patients, survivors and their loved ones.
Volunteer duties will include handing out t-shirts, medals and prizes, providing directions, cheering along the course route and other event support duties. Volunteers should arrive by 6:45am and will be finished by 12pm. Volunteers will receive breakfast and a commemorative t-shirt. WeSPARK Cancer Support Center enhances the quality of life for cancer patients, survivors and their loved ones. WeSPARK provides free programs and services, which alleviate the physical and emotional side effects of a cancer diagnosis.

Volunteers are asked to arrive at 6:30am (runner's packet pickup begins at 7:30am, race begins at 9am) Event will end by 12:00pm

10K & 5K Run/Walk & Kids Fun Run!
We will also have a Kids Fun Run, vendor expo, with food, drinks, a raffle, food trucks, music and more!

Scarcely a person in this country has been untouched by cancer, either by a personal diagnosis or by knowing and loving someone who has been diagnosed. The disease must be combated physically, but also psychologically and emotionally. weSPARK provides a variety of programs and opportunities for social exchange to all people at no cost, regardless of income, race, religious affiliation, age or where they go for treatment.
