Description

614 YPA is a community-based nonprofit organization that works with youth and families in Franklin County. For nearly 20 years has been Youth Rises Against All Odds that has served the Columbus community, particularly the youth of the North side and in New Orleans.

What started as a Christmas program to help 6 families, operated out of founder and director Jynette Hayes's home, has expanded and grown over time; so much so that last year, the organization was able to assist 300 families during the holidays.

614YPF will offer an attractive alternative with its after-school programming, which will include goal planning, homework help, tutoring, positive socialization, field trips, and computer literacy opportunities will fulfill this need through programs such as Boyz to Men, which provides direction and male role models for middle and high school boys, and Just for Me - It's All Us, a mentoring and self-esteem building program to provide positive support to preteen and teenage girls.

The programs offered through Youth Rises Against All Odds help the young people of Columbus to reach their fullest potential, achieve academic and personal success, and develop leadership and interpersonal skills. The sense of self-worth young people will achieve through these programs will help them to stay off the streets and out of dangerous situations.
