We’re looking for Marketing Coordinators to help promote SFAR and our mission for animal welfare. The marketing team will raise awareness about SFAR by executing campaigns that expand our reach to new volunteers, adopters, donors, and supporters. This is a collaborative environment where new and creative ideas are encouraged.
Marketing and Social Media Manager Job Description
Desired Experience & Education
- Possesses marketing knowledge and experience.
- Demonstrates creativity and documented immersion in social media.
- Exhibits the ability to jump from the creative side of marketing to the analytical side.
- Displays in-depth knowledge and understanding of social media platforms and their respective participants (Facebook (business manager), Instagram, YouTube etc.).
- Maintains excellent writing and language skills.
- Displays ability to effectively communicate information and ideas in written, audio and video format.
- Is a team player with the confidence to take the lead and guide other volunteers when necessary. (ie: content development, creation and editing of content, and online reputation management).
- Makes evident good technical understanding and can pick up new tools quickly.
Essential Duties, Responsibilities & Requirements
Manage social media marketing campaigns and day-to-day activities including:
- Develop relevant content topics to reach target audiences.
- Create, curate, and manage published content (images, video and written)
- Monitor, listen and respond to users.
- Develop and expand community and/or influencer outreach efforts.
- Oversee design of social media graphics for all profiles: Facebook cover, profile pic, thumbnails, Instagram, Twitter, etc.
- Create and manage an online review process.
- Become an advocate in social media spaces, engaging in dialogues and answering questions where appropriate.
- Monitor trends in social media tools, applications, channels, design and strategy.
- Identify threats and opportunities in user-generated content. Report notable threats to appropriate management.
- Monitor effective benchmarks (Best Practices) for measuring the impact of social media campaigns.

Our mission is to provide refuge for senior animals and animals needing hospice care. We aim to provide education, assistance and support to the public to help people better understand and care for their companion animals. We do more than just rescue, we DRIVE change.
Description
Strawberry Fields Animal Rescue Illinois is a registered 501(c)(3) senior animal rescue serving the Chicagoland area. Senior animals in shelters are most at risk for euthanasia and are often times overlooked. At SFAR we believe all senior animals deserve to live out the rest of their lives in comfort and peace. After two years of hard work and dedication the board of directors came together and the rescue started to take off. SFAR is 100% foster based. SFAR not only rescues senior animals but also strives to educate the public about animal welfare and animal health. We believe rescue and education go hand in hand. SFAR would not function without the help of volunteers. We are still a young organization and are still building our organizational capacity. We are working hard to build a volunteer network so that we have the ability to save more animals. As we grow, we need people like you - who can help illustrate the work that we do each day and can highlight the impact that we have on the animals and the overall community. We need you. We need your brilliance, your drive, your expertise and your passion. It goes without saying that your support in this role would help build the foundation we need to reach new programmatic heights.

- We are open to working with volunteer’s schedules, however there will be deadlines that need to be met. Must be able to attend weekly to biweekly zoom meetings.
