Parks and Natural Resource's Mosquito Control is looking for an intern who will work with mosquito control staff in the daily routine and operation of Polk County Mosquito Control Program. If completing this internship for academic credit, all required documents must be provided prior to your first scheduled day.
A Mosquito Control intern will participate in mosquito control surveillance, identify mosquito species, and help determine control strategies. During the execution of control strategies interns will monitor for resistance to control products. Interns will also undergo training in arbovirus surveillance and investigate suspected mosquito-borne disease cases.
They bite, they buzz and they can annoy any barbecue. But Polk County's Mosquito Control unit is constantly at work to combat the pesky insects and improve public health.
