29 Acres is a nonprofit with a living community for adults with autism and neurodiversity. We are looking for someone to help design our brick space located in our garden that includes 31 dedicated and engraved bricks to be displayed!
Our new Learning Garden will include a vegetable garden, herb garden, berry garden, pepper garden, sunflower garden, cut flower garden, Texas tree orchard, seating area, lawn area, and water well so our garden can blossom and grow. The garden is an extension of our life changing services and is being built to kick-off our horticultural program centered on autism gardening therapy. This therapeutic tool has been used across the spectrum to improve the lives of autistic adults in many ways. For instance, autism gardening therapy has proven to enhance social skills, improve fine motor skills, increase physical activity, ameliorate sensory issues by incorporating plants of different color, texture, smell and taste in as many ways as possible.
