Family Integration Support

Save to Favorites

CATHOLIC CHARITIES INDIANAPOLIS INC

Catholic Charities Indianapolis has a grant program where we are helping refugees and asylees connect with community resources to address identified needs. Program participants will meet with the Community Integration and Legal Specialist (agency staff) who will create an integration plan that will outline the needs of the family, such as employment, housing, legal, or educational needs. Once the plan is developed, the program participant will be linked with a Family Integration Support (volunteer).

The Family Integration Support (volunteer) will be tasked to meet at minimum once a week with program participants to ensure the action items from the integration plan are being met and strong community connections are being made. At this time, in-person meetings are preferred but the agency is open to virtual connections as well.

English will not be the first language for the majority of program participants. Program participants are immigrants who have a legal status and are working to become US citizens. They will have a range of English language skills depending on the length of time they have been in the US and the amount of time they have been working on the developing their fluency.
