Apply your fundraising skills to a good cause. Purple Tree Cafe is a small nonprofit organization dedicated to providing employment for people with disabilities and improving their integration into the broader community. We are seeking to fill a vacancy in our all-volunteer board of directors, and for this vacancy the most important criterion is solid experience in fundraising -- for example, campaigns, donor management, solicitations, or special events. The new member will lead other board members and a volunteer staff person in expanding and organizing our efforts.

Our employees bake and sell vegan treats at public and private events; we also wholesale our goods to other businesses and have a treat delivery service. We are currently raising funds to share space with an existing brick-and-mortar café. We also sponsor inclusive music events online. We have 12 part-time paid employees,and a few volunteer staff members. More information can be found at www.purpletreecafe.org and on Facebook and Instagram.

Applicants who are familiar with the Sacramento region will be given preference; we would also value experience in community relations, nonprofit management, or disability programs. We honor and seek diversity in gender, race, sexual orientation, religion, and disability.

Board members are elected for two-year terms, renewable, and are expected to attend monthly board meetings (online for now). They also are expected to invest several hours per month in planning and support activities.
