About Carboncopies

At the Carboncopies Foundation, we believe that the possibilities and opportunities enabled by Whole Brain Emulation (WBE) represent the most promising technological path to overcoming our fundamental limitations as a species.

To achieve WBE, essential advances are needed in neurobiology, neurophysiology, brain imaging, micro- and nanoscale technologies, computational neuroscience, computing hardware, and even the philosophy of mind. We provide peer networks and project opportunities to scientists working on challenges critical to whole brain emulation and recognize that there is a long road ahead of us.

The Carboncopies Foundation is growing and has recently decided that our Environmental Rendering System (ERS) division should operate more independently. We are looking for someone who can take on some of the managerial tasks of ERS so that our resources can be used more efficiently. As the Lead of the ERS division, you would be part of our neural simulation platform department at the Carboncopies Foundation and join a team consisting of the Leads and Co-Leads of this department.

Your tasks, as the Lead of our ERS division of our neural simulation platform, would include the following:

• Oversight of team
  
• Onboarding members to the ERS division
  
• Management of meetings
  
  

• Updating our neural simulation platform department as a whole on progress
  
• Requesting resources from other divisions of our neural simulation platform team
  
• Creation of status updates for the rest of the Carboncopies organization
  
  

The following qualifications and/or experience aren’t required but would be helpful for you in taking on this role:

• Previous experience with team management and leadership positions.
  
• Previous experience working with/for a non-profit organisation.
  
  

Approx. 20 hours / week.
