Camp Mariposa could be the place for you! We are looking for Volunteer Mentors that love to be outside, lead activities, and eat some S’mores.

Camp Mariposa(r) is a national addiction prevention and mentoring program for youth who have been impacted by substance abuse in their families. Camp Mariposa is offered free of charge to all families.

Children ages 9-12 attend transformational weekend camps multiple times a year. Campers participate in fun traditional camp activities combined with education and support exercises led by mental health professionals and trained mentors. Teens ages 13-17 participated in the same activities as our youth, with an additional leadership component added to their program.

Additional educational, social, and mentoring activities are offered for campers, teens, and their families throughout the year. These activities build knowledge, coping skills, confidence, and an opportunity to connect with one another. Led by mental health professionals and trained volunteers, Camp Mariposa provides a safe, fun, and supportive environment critical to helping break the cycle of addiction.

Traditional camp activities could include but not limited to:

  • arts and crafts
  • camp songs
  • games
  • team building
  • archery
  • canoeing
  • swimming
  • sports
  • and more.....

All Mentors will be required to:

  • pass a criminal background screening
