Committed individual needed to join our coaching team as a virtual dance team coach. You will work with our first fully remote dance team which serves girls ages 12-15. We are entertaining the possibility of boys joining the team, so comfort in teaching both is essential. The team is very small, but is often invited to high profile events - so energy and patience with a group of "beginners" is a must. You will be partnered with other seasoned dance team coaches who support the team.
The team can meet any night of the week from 5pm to 8pm. Currently, there is one instructor who is teaching Reggaeton/Soca on Thursdays at 7pm. You can choose any genre to teach (ballet, jazz, Bollywood, modern/contemporary, hip-hop, etc.), and select any evening of the week (or even a Saturday evening).
This is a New York/New Jersey based team (so someone who is local will observe the class and learn your routines to support the girls' learning). Your job is to create and teach a routine for the girls to perform at a Spring showcase. The local instructor will begin meeting with them in person to prepare them for that performance.
You would be asked to download the BAND app, which is where we upload choreography for the team to study in between practices.
Interested parties are asked to share a little about their experience when they apply, specifying which genre of dance they would like to teach. No phone calls please.

Friends of MJHS ("Friends") is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation organized for the purpose of generating contributions, pledges and funds for the development and ongoing support of Citadel Academy Prep School (CAPS), a school that will provide students in grades 6-8 with a high quality Christian education through a well balanced, yet challenging curriculum that ministers to the spirit, soul and body.
Friends will also provide funds, management and ongoing support of The SoulDeevas Performing Arts Company, a character building sports and arts program that will serve all youth regardless of their religious affiliation. The SoulDeevas will include programs that provide activities, resources and support during critical out-of-school time hours in a safe, nurturing environment that works from a strengths-based, youth development perspective.
