Coach - NY Majorette Dance Team

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

Committed individual needed to coach our new hip-hop majorette dance team, serving girls ages 12-18. The team is very small, but is often invited to high profile events - so energy and patience with a group mixed with advanced and beginner dancers is a must. You will be partnered with another seasoned majorette coach and must have strong hip-hop dance experience (majorette is helpful but not critical).

The team meets on Saturdays from 1pm to 3pm in Manhattan (Hudson/Clarkson Streets) and their season runs until June. Should the pandemic require the closure of our facility, then the team will move to a virtual practice, likely from 12pm to 2pm.

Coaching experience is not required, but you must have participated on a school, church, community or fraternal step team. You will be asked to develop complex routines for performances and competitions. Dance experience is helpful, but not at all required. Coaches can also choose to add an additional virtual practice even if the team has an in-person practice.

Interested parties are asked to share a little about their experience when they apply. No phone calls please.
