Coaching Assistant - NJ Cheerleading Team

Save to Favorites

ORGANIZATION: Friends of MJHS

Committed high school students needed to serve as cheerleading assistant coaches for our new 12-15 girls' team. You will assist two head coaches.

The team meets on Saturdays from 11am to 1pm in Newark and their season runs until June. If the pandemic forces a closure of our site, the team will move to virtual Saturday practices, likely from 12pm to 2pm.

The team will prepare for local and regional performances and cheer competitions and will also cheer for our organization's basketball team. You will assist the coaches by leading stretches once the girls come in and by helping the team learn all of the cheers, motions and routines. You can also teach the team one or two nights a week over Zoom to help them better prepare for Saturdays.

Girls who are currently on their cheerleading team or who have been cheerleaders before are encouraged to apply and this experience can be used for community service credit.

Interested parties are asked to share a little about their experience when they apply. No phone calls please.
