The #1Thing Against Racism is a grassroot movement to encourage everybody to make a small but meaningful contribution to fight racism, to inspire more people to join the force, and each and every contribution together can make a much bigger impact.

The organization has created hatecrimetracker.1thing.org to track Anti-Asian hate incidents happening in the United States.

We are looking for volunteers with marketing, branding and online promotion experience to help promote the Hate Crime Tracker website, and promote the #1Thing movement idea.

Mission Statement

#1ThingAgainstRacism is a grassroot movement that encourages the Asian community and allies to stand up, take small actions to fight against racism, share what we did and inspire more people to join the force. The main idea of the movement is that with chain of action -> share -> inspire to create a positive feedback loop that can aggregate small efforts to large social movement that eventually make real differences in our society.

Description

Even though the anti-Asian hate is not under the spotlight in today’s news, the issue still exists. The AAPI community and our allies could sit still doing nothing today, waiting until another horrible incident will inevitably happen again. Or we could continue the momentum that we all built together in the past few months. We shall continue contributing to the cause, one small thing at a time. Together, we can eventually gain the racial equality we deserve.
