One Community is an all-volunteer nonprofit sustainability think tank. We're seeking a Structural or Mechanical Engineer to use SolidWorks to help us run the analysis necessary to identify the best DIY bracket design for connecting the triangles that make up the domes for this structure:

SKILL REQUIREMENTS
- SolidWorks FEA experience and your own copy of the software
- Must be available for 10+ volunteer hours a week
- Must be available for at least 2 months
- Must have exceptional attention to detail and ability to work well in a work-from-home/virtual environment that uses DropBox and GoogleDocs for collaboration
ABOUT THE STRUCTURE AND TASK
The Duplicable City Center is an open source dining hall and recreation hub designed to service 200+ people and function as the center of eco-humanitarian villages to be built around the world. We are seeking help identifying the most affordable do-it-yourself (cutting, bending and hole drilling) metal bracket design (bolt-hole pattern and size) for connecting the LVL beams we'll be using to construct the City Center domes.
