Volunteers will supervise and play with the children while their mothers are receiving culinary classes.

Mission

Aviva Family and Children's Services provides a comprehensive range of diverse and culturally sensitive therapeutic and educational programs to help at-risk, emotionally distressed, abused, and neglected youth- as well as their families- function more effectively as individuals and within the family and community.

Impact

As a volunteer, you can have a direct influence on a child's life by interacting with them and playing with them. Due to Covid-19, the children at Wallis House have not had the opportunity to interact with other children. It's also an opportunity to help the mothers as they take time for themselves and learn basic cooking skills.

Volunteer Roles & Responsibilities

Volunteer will supervise and play with the children for two hours. Ages range from Baby-13 y/o.

Volunteer will ensure the children are safe at all times

Volunteer will contact the child's mother if they need to use the restroom.

Requirements

Must be fully vaccinated,wear a face mask, and wear casual clothing.

Programs include: * early enrichment services, * community-based services, * foster family & adoption services, * Aviva High School, * Wallis Annenberg Residential Center, which provides a safe and unique 24-hour psychotherapeutic environement for thirty-six adolescent girls who reside full-time at Aviva for a period of six-to-18 months.
