Grant Writer + Researcher:

Do you have the ability to gather and analyze information and perform comprehensive background research? Can you clearly communicate an organization's value to prospective foundations?

Life Crown Foundation is seeking a part-time volunteer grant writer and grant research specialist to help us achieve our mission to empower and transform rural communities in Nigeria through the provision of free access to education, basic health care, and small business loans. If you have experience writing grants and a desire to contribute to our work (or know someone who does), we’d love to hear from you!

The Grant Writer will help to identify grant opportunities, develop funding proposals, manage grants, and effectively communicate Life Crown Foundation's mission and services/programs to Funders. The Grant Writer will develop, assemble and submit grant requests.

This is an unpaid/volunteer position. Flexible schedule. This is a remote position. We estimate 2-3 hours per week and are asking for a 6-month commitment.

Volunteer Duties may include:

1. Assist with grant research, fundraising, and proposal processes
2. Prepare proposals and supporting documents
3. Conduct prospect research
4. Identifying grant funding opportunities.

Requirements:

• 2+ years of nonprofit development and grant writing experience preferred
• Excellent writing and administrative skills
• Familiarity with proposals and grant narratives, ideally in youth and/or arts nonprofit organizations
• Strong computer skills, comfortable working in a database
• Excellent knowledge of fundraising information sources.
• Strong people skills
• Excellent organizational skills
• Ability to meet deadlines
