Teen Center Drop In Facilitator
In this role, volunteers will help students with their homework and other academic goals. They will also assist with preparing or serving meals, and facilitating or assisting with activities.
Mondays through Thursdays from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
VOLUNTEERS should be comfortable tutoring high school subjects, troubleshooting technology problems, and enforcing both group norms and COVID protocols. Availability during the full two-hour time block is preferred. Although it is not required, it would be helpful to be bilingual in English and Spanish and have a background in education, English language and literature, or social work.
The Teen Center offers after-school programming for high school students. Participating students engage in a program that matches their interests and receives support for their personal, educational, and career goals. To help students with their academics, tutoring is offered daily.
All in-person opportunities require strict adherence to LEAP’s health and safety protocols, which have been implemented for operation during the pandemic.

LEAP has a variety of volunteer opportunities, ranging from one-time service to longer-term commitments. We believe that all supporters are vital to the organization’s mission, and engagement helps students find success and build a stronger community.

- All LEAP programs are built on the foundation of trust between students and adults. As such, volunteers are asked to commit a minimum of two hours per week for an entire school year.
- While volunteers are not required to speak Spanish, it would be helpful to be bilingual in English and Spanish. It is asked that volunteers are patient with multilingual language students and are enthusiastic about experiencing other cultures.
