We at Terra Firma International are looking for an experienced, committed, and enthusiastic Advocacy and Public Relations manager to join our team! This position involves working closely with our executive team to help us raise awareness about Terra Firma’s cause and innovative model. We at Terra Firma aim to combine a grassroots-style community intervention with cutting edge research to combat the abuse and exploitation of unaccompanied refugee children. Our flagship program is based in Athens, Greece.

The task of the Advocacy and Public relations manager includes the following:

  • Arranging speaking engagements for our founders (i.e. conferences, ted talks)
  • Reaching out to local media outlets
  • Developing media outreach toolkits
  • Directing social media campaigns
  • Writing monthly newsletters

Required skills for the position of Advocacy and Public Relations Manager are:

  • Excellent oral and written communication

Building solid foundations for youth in turbulent communities

Description

The Terra Firma Integration Program (TFIP) partners with children’s shelters in Greece to prepare unaccompanied refugee children for adulthood and address the social isolation and missed opportunities they have experienced. To do so, we provide a structured counseling and apprenticeship program with the following components:
A) a volunteer apprenticeship with local Greek tradesmen so that youth have an employable skill by the time they turn 18
B) regular sessions with a guidance counselor who is well versed in the experiences if unaccompanied refugee children and can help them make positive decisions
C) group workshops that build unaccompanied children's self-confidence and create a sense of community
