UX and Developers needed for Website Development

Empowr Co

Empowr is looking to scale up it's efforts by offering a custom learning platform for our students. We will use OpenEdx to accomplish this.

We are looking for someone to customize the OpenEdx site according to our brand. We have brand colors established and simply need a UX developer to help us apply them to our website to create a modern and sleek environment.

Developers will work alongside UX to theme the website according to their spec. We will also need a custom plugin developed using OpenEdx Xblocks (standard web technologies are used).

The plugin will allow our students to write code within the browser and have it automatically graded. We have done most of the research required and need a Web Developer developer to write the code.

Our Executive Director is a software developer himself so he will be there to support you with any information you may need and give you access to our GitHub and other tools.

Mission Statement

Empowr teaches high-paying and in-demand skills to students to create a prosperous and equitable future. By creating a culturally relevant curriculum and working with our partners to ensure all of our students obtain jobs, we end the racial wealth gaps and tear down the systems of inequality.

The royalty program teaches high-paying STEM skills to black high school students. We currently teach iOS development for our program. Students learn the fundamentals of software development using Swift and then design and create iPhone apps. After graduating from our program, our students are put through our recruitment network to secure jobs. The average iOS developer makes about $100,000.
